2823. Acceptance of apologies for absence

The meeting was adjourned to allow members of the public the opportunity to raise any issues.

2827. Electoral Review of Wiltshire – Warding Arrangements
2828. Parking review of High Street/Norton Road
A draft of suggested parking restrictions on this junction have been received from the Highways department at Wiltshire Council. The Councillors voted in favour of the proposed restrictions to prevent obstruction of the bus shelter, but asked the Clerk to request further restrictions on the opposite side of the junction, as per the original proposal.
2829. Approval of Clerk’s request to change from quarterly to monthly pay intervals

The Clerk has also requested further details of the weekly inspections offered by idverde.
2830. Christmas Tree – Initial discussion
Cllr Walker will look into booking the tree and the Clerk will investigate costings for additional lighting.

2834. Clerk’s Report
HSBC are no longer returning banked cheques, although copies are available on request. The Clerk will photocopy cheques prior to issue.
Repairs to the play area are scheduled for week commencing 10/09/2018. Since the last inspection by idVerde, further decay of several wooden posts is evident and at a cost of £318.00 + VAT. In light of safety concerns it was agreed by all to carry out the works ASAP.
The Parish Steward was in Sutton Veny today and repaired several potholes, cleaned the bus shelters and strimmed weeds along the pavement in Norton Road.

2836. Councillor Vacancy – consider applications
The Clerk has previously circulated the three strong applications received for the current vacancy. These were discussed and a vote taken, with the majority of Councillors voting for Mr Alan Russell. Mr Russell will be invited to attend the October meeting for co-option.

Cllr Wilson asked about the possibility of obtaining a ‘Tommy’ silhouette.
