DRAFT MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SUTTON VENY PARISH COUNCIL held on Thursday 4th October 2018

2838. Acceptance of apologies for absence

The meeting was adjourned to allow members of the public the opportunity to raise any issues.
2839. Open session for members of the public

The meeting reconvened.

2840. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011
None

2841. To confirm and sign minutes of the last meeting
Minutes of the meeting held on 6th September 2018 were circulated prior to this meeting were accepted as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

2842. Co-option of new Parish Councillor
Alan Russell was invited to join the members and signed the Declaration of Acceptance.

2843. Resignation of Councillor Tim Goodman
The Clerk has received a letter from Cllr Goodman, in which he resigned from the Parish Council with immediate effect. The members thank Tim for his contribution and wish him well.

2844. WALC Councillor Development Training
No Councillors available to attend the training session on 27th October.

2845. Decide date of Christmas Tree blessing
Assuming delivery of the tree can be made in the preceding week, the blessing will be planned for Saturday 1st December at 5pm.

2846. Chairman’s Announcements
Having looked into the Silent Soldiers, it appears that the opportunity to obtain one for Sutton Veny village has passed.
The Chairman informed the members of the services offered by the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust. The Clerk will put information in the newsletter.

2849. Clerk’s Report
Play Area repairs are well underway and nearing completion. The Annual Safety Inspection will take place later this month.
The Clerk requested tasks for the Parish Steward; clear weeds on pavement at Shepphards Forge/Deverill Road and to clear the path on Village Green.
